RESOURCES i LOVE

tHE aDVANTAGE (pATRICK lENCIONI)

Hands down - one of my favorite books on organizational development. It was given to me by a consulting CFO who gave it to all of his own clients to help them understand the relationship between organizational health and financial success for organizations. Love love love this book.

The Social Profit Handbook (David Grant)

An outstanding book for anyone who is doing mission-driven work OR trying to set up a mission-focused team (including those in the for-profit sector). It provides tangible ideas on how to get clear on where you are trying to head and what you really, really want to achieve. It includes helpful conversation facilitation methodologies for anyone doing strategic vision work.

FYI: For Your Improvement - For Learners, Managers, Mentors, and Feedback Givers (Michael Lombardo & Robert Eichinger)

Good reference for thinking about skills that you and/or others on your team have and how to use your skills to strengthen performance overall. I own the 5th edition, which is great; assume newer editions are also solid.
